WESTPORT Kent Taylor and Arline Judge are the amateur detectives who ferret out the fiendish killers in “The Clock Strikes 8.” the Paramount thrilling mystery romance at the New Victoria Theatre to-night and to-morrow (Tuesday). In a story that blends thrills, comedy and romance in an entertaining manner, Wendy Barrie acts the part of a French girl,' the daughter of a new professor and the new centre of attraction for the college “sheiks”. Three men who attempted to win her affections were found mardered. There are a thousand clues to this mystery and it needs every one of them to solve it. It is recommended by the censor for adults. Grete Natzler with Patrick Knowles, Carol Goodnee are the stars in the delightful British musical production, “The Student’s Romance,” adapted from the operatta “I Lost My Heart in Heideberg. ” There is music and laughter and a lovely romance in this melodious story of gaiety and youth, showing on Wednesday and Thursday and matinee Thursday at New Victoria Theatre.
