STRAY CATTLE.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —In Wednesday’s issue of your paper a Mr. J. E. Reedy was complaining regarding stray cattle breaking his fences and ruining his garden. 1 would also like to point out the danger we run in travelling these roads, between Westport and Harihari, per motor car. and I would be very grateful if you would advise me through your paper, just who is responsible in the event of an accident. I have bad very many narrow escapes, but I have heard of many who have got off worse than me. To my mind the stray cattle are undoubtedly the biggest menace on the road and surely it is high time something is done in the matter. COMMERCIAL TRAVELLER.
