August 1. “The Herald,” commenting on the Bathurst match, says: Though the Maoris had a favourable margin of points, it was not until the second half that their football reached a high standard. In the second spell -they showed far better combination than in the match against Xew South Wales, the backs blending sp’cndidly. The forwards also improved as the game progressed.
