lO'ir Own Corresponaent.) Mrs. D. Graham, ■who has been on a visit to Nelson, is expected home early this month. Mrs. J. J. McKay, who has been on a visit to Dunedin, is returning next week. Mr. P. O’Donnell is at present on a visit here. Miss K. Adamson left on Monday last to take up a position at Christchurch. Kate will manage the “Avon” Tea Rooms. Miss M. Taylor, of Springfield, been on a visit here, being the guest of Miss K. Adamson. Rev. Father Joyce, Parish Priest, of Ross, will pay his monthly visit to Harihari at the end of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Point in, of Christchurch, are at present on a visit here. Mr. AV. Thiele, one of the local Rugby players who was picked to travel with the West Coast team to Blenheim, left here yesterday morning for Greymouth.

The annual meeting of the Harihari Domain Board was held at the hall on Saturday night. Mr. W. Searle junr.. was appointed chairman of the Board to fill the vacancy due to Mr. P. Hansen having resigned. Mrs. AV. Chi snail was unlucky to leos a valuable Pomeranian on Sunday, the dog being presumed to have been a victim of the epidemic prevailing among the canine species. In a Rugby match here last Sunday the ocal team had four brothers (the McMillans) playing, while the Rover team had three brothers included in it (the Adamsons). The Rovers are a newly-formed local team (mostly from the K.D.V. staff) and played for the Knock-out Cup, being defeated by 14 to 3. Harihari had a gorge wind with them in the first spell, when they did all their scoring, and Rovers likewise. The latter’s supporters expected to prevail in the second spell, whereas the Harihari team’s defence prevented any score. Mr. G. Robertson was referee.
