GBAN CHACO TRUCE. PEACE ’EXPECTED. (Aus. ana N.Z. Cable Assn.) BUENOS AIRES. June 9. The armistice terms for the war be’.hveen Paraguay and Bolivia, over Gran Chaco, were initialled by representatives of the two countries to-day after thirteen days’ mediation among the five neutral South American countries. Although the respective countries must approve the terms, observers predict that hostilities will cease by June 15, the third anniversary of the warfare which has been responsible for at least 10,000 casualties.
The agreement provides for direct peace negotiations between the belligerents. which, if unsuccessful, will result in submission >to a World Court of Arbitration.
