OVER-SUBSCRIPTION
mortgage corporation. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, May 25. The Acting-Finance Minister (the Hon. Adam Hamilton) said to-day that he was unable to give details regarding 'the subscriptions to the National Mortgage Corporation, as the applications were still coming in, and many posted yesterday would probably not arrive till Monday.
There was mo doubt, he said, that 'the issue was over-subscribed. CHRISTCHURCH,. May 15. It is stated that the number of applications received by Christchurch sharebrokers alone way 207,000), of which 98 k OOOO were received yesterday for the mortgage corporation. Lt would appear, however, that about half the public capital is available in Christchurch. It is not likely that the issue will go to allotment for about three weeks.
