The weather report and forecast are as follows:— General situation: An intense anticyclone is centred south-east of New Zealand while a depression is located over central Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds north-west to north prevailing, moderate to strong in the far north, elsewhere, light to moderate, but increasing. Seas in New Zealand waters becoming rough north of East Cape and increasing swell on the west coast; otherwise, smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong 'northerly winds, moderate to rather rough seas. Weather for the most part fine in eastern districts; elsewhere cloudy with ruin in the far north and scattered in parts of the western districts. Cold at night with many frosts inland.
