COur Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Kumara Sub-Branch of the Hokitika R.S.A. was held on Saturday evening in the Fire Brigade Social Room, Rev. H. S. Hamilton presiding over an attendance of 28. The Secretary’s report for the year was enthusiastically received, the membership having increased by 16, to 44. The balance sheet was adopted and disclosed a credit in the P. 0.5.8. of £26 2s. The following were elected to offices for the year: President, Rev. JI. S. Hamilton (re-elected); Vice President, Mr J. A. Peever; SecretaryTreasurer, Mr L. Dewe (re-elected); Executive, Messrs AV. Lawrence, R. Little, F. Reedy, P. Fox, S. Harris, F. Barctta, A. McNabb, 11. George, J. AVhite and J. Reedy; Auditor, Mr J. A. Peever (re-elected). The subscription was fixed at ss, the same as last year. Mr AV. F. Ashley, of Hokitika, was re-appointed as delegate on the Hokitika Executive. Votes of thanks were duly recorded to the Hall Committee for the use of hall, Air AV. F. Ashley (delegate), and lhe Hokitika Association, Mr R. Patterson (Secre tarv), being especially mentioned. Business dealt with included, prematurely aged and “burnt out” men, Runanga re-union, annual meeting at Hokitika and building of social hall. Mr P. McDonald, lion, member, donated a suitable section to the Association if it was decided to build its own hall. The Executive was asked to review the position in connection with the present Memorial Hall and to report later to a general meeting on both proposals, members being agreed that a social room for RKA. use was most drsirab’e. The date of executive meeting was fixed for Hip first Monday in each month. The Chairman thanked members for their attendance, especial!v mentioning that of the delegate and three members from Hokitika. The meeting then adjourned for a social hour and the following toasts were honoured: The King; Our President, Hokitika R.S.A., Our Delegate and Hon. Members. The following contributed items: Messrs George, Hamer. AfcDon aid, Peever, Lawrence and McGregor. The singing of Auld Lang Syne concluded a most enjoyable evening.
