WALLSEND MINERS. At a. ballot the, men working at Wallsend mine have decided to form a union separate from Grey Valley Mine Workers’ Union, the voting, out of 91, ebing 66 for and 13 against, a? 12 did not vote, of whom eight were absent through illness. The ballot was held following a meeting of the Grey Valley Union of which exception was taken 'to the, presence of Mr A. McLagan (National Secretary) on the ground that he should not hold the National Secretaryship while not employed at a mine. That meeting voted 45 to 42 as against Mr McLagan being present.

A roquet by the Wallsend miners is to be given effect by the mine management that no further payments of deductions for checkweighmen to the Grev Valley Union shall be made.
