Miss S. Bush has returned from a visit to Wellington.
Miss M. Ferguson will return to-day from a visit to Christchurch.
Mrs J. W. Dickson will leave to day on a visit to Wellington.
Mr O. Anderson of the Railway Traffic Staff, Otira, has been tranferred to Grey mouth.
Miss A. Scannell will leave this morning for Timaru, to spend the May vacation.
Miss G. Tligson will leave for Christchurch on Monday where she will take part in the Competitions festival.
Mr C. W. Carver, Clerk of the Court nt No’son, and formerly at Hokitika, has received notice of transfer to Dunedin.
Mr Harold Mureh, formerly of the Greymonth Police Force, and a brother of Detective March, is at present here on a holiday visit, after an absence of twelve years.
Rev. Brother Emilian, Rector of the Marist Brothers’ School, Greymouth, leaves to-day for ’Wellington in order to attend the May conference of the Catholic School Teachers of New Zealand.
Guests at Bevington’s Hotel include Miss M. Palmer (Temuka), Mr Anderson (Wellington). Mr J. Charters (Nelson), Mr F. W. Bostock (Christchurch), Mr J. R. Clayton (Christchurch). A London cable states that, though hindered by the Jubilee celebrations, the South Australian Agent-Genera! (Mr Butler) is inquiring into the possibility of the Duke and Duchess of Kent going to Adelaide for the centenary. It appears that the principal objection is the expense of sending a warship, therefore it is suggested the vovage could be made in an ordinary liner Mr L. W. Louisson, Registrar of the Supreme Court at Greymouth for the past eight years, has. received notice of transfer to New Plymouth, and expects to leave Greymouth in about' a month’s time. lie will he succeeded at Greymouth by Mr Frank Bird, of Oamaru Mr Louisson’s de parture was referred to bv the Chairman (Mr G. R. Harker) at last evening’s meeting of the Greymouth Branch of the Canterbury Automobile Association, who paid *he Association was losing one of its most active members. Mr Louisson had always assisted the Association, and had been on the Committee for the past two rears. The Association congratulated him on his promotion, and wished him everv success in his now sphere. Dr. W. McKay ab’o paid a tribute to the work of Mr Louisson. who suitably replied.
