JUBILEE MEDALS.

(To the Editor.)

Sir. —1 have been informed that some people in Greymouth blame in" because the. name of Air J. AV. Greeuslade was not included in the list of those whio wore ‘to receive the King’s Silver Jubilee Medals; holding that 1, as Member for the District, woulu make representations to the Government as to w'ho was to receive •the medals. In reply to these rumours. I wish to state that T had nothing to d-’ with the distribution of the medals, nor did 1i know that such medals were to be issued. I was quite surprised when 1 road in the Greymouth “Evening Star’’ that I was to have the honour of receiving the modal. I know nothing whatever of how the names of the distribution of the medals were selected, and was astonished when J head that the name, iof Air Greenslade was omitted. I know probably mor? than anyone; else on the Coast that Air Greenslade was worthy of some recognition for his valuable services to the town and district, and thought at the 'time that his name was left out because -he would receive a higher decoration. To try and clear un this matter, I am writing the Acting Prime Minister, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, asking if he -will inform me by what method the names of ‘those to receive the medals was selected. T am etc.. Jas. O’BRIEN.
