THE WEATHER
WELLINGTON, May 9. The weather report ami forecast arp as follows:—
General situation; A slight depression has been crossing the Dominion to-day. but an anti-cyclone, covering Tasman Sea, is gradually moving eastwards. Forecast: Winds southerly, moderate generally, but freshening temporarily along the east coast. Seas in New Zealand waters rather rough with a southerly swell south of East Cape; elsewhere, smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Mod erafe* southerly winds, later veering to' westerlies in the southern portion. Seas moderate. Weather: Some showers or misty rain at first in eastern districts; otherwise fair to fine. Temperatures cool, with frosts inland, but milder to-morrow.
