GOLD MINING
Worksop Extended Gold Dredging Coy. reports that the dredge is working through tailings this week, aud there will be no wash-up. Messrs W\ A. Mitson and Coy., secretaries of the Waitahu Gold Mining Company, Limited, have received telegraphic advice from the claim manager of a further partial wash-up from No. 3 paddock on Saturday, 4th May, 1935, of 45 ounces 3 dwts. The previous wash-up was Tuesday. 16th April, since when the elevator has been in operation for 33 shifts of 8 hours.
Worksop Extended Dredging Coy. report that the Company’s dredge has now worked up No. 1 Gully as far as possible and is no»w turning to come down the Gully. The dredge for the next fortnight will be going through old workings and consequently the returns cannot be expected to be as good for that peroid. After dredging through these old workings- the dredge wnll be hack in solid ground again, when returns should improve.
