Mr Poulter. on arriving here, discredited the theory that the Antarctic would make an excellent health resort, because germs cannot live at low temperatures. He said: “Our geologists examined many pieces of snow, and in practically all of them found bateria of some sort or other. ’ ’
Mr Poulter, who is departing for Washington, will be present at the Byrd reception ceremonies. He declared himself well satisfied with the scientific results of the expedition.
