Mexico’s .Fascisti CONFLICT WITH WORSHIPPERS. (Received December 31 at 5.5 pm.) NKW YORK, December 30. The Now York “Times’s” Alexicv City correspondent says: Five Catholic worshippers were killed through a dash with a heavily-armed band of the Red Shirts, the Fascisti-like group of Alexican Government supporterg. The Red Shirts have been organised to nress the Government’s antiChurch policy. About forty-five of the Red Shirts paraded to a church located in the suburbs, where several thousand Catholics were holding Afass. The Red Shirts taunted the worshippers, and denounced the church. Thev cried: “Death fo priests!” TKi s enraged the Catholics, who attacked the Red Shirts. The Red Shirts immediately started firing,, injuring about thirty of the people. In addition to those who were immediately killed. one of the Red Shirts was captured, and beaten to death bv the Catholics. Despite the 'fact that they were armed, the Red Shirts were forced to retreat to the City Municipal Buildings, where they were besieged until the police cleared the neighbourhood and took them into custody.
