ACCIDENTS

MR. D. G. SULLIVAN, M.P., INJURED. (Per Press Association.) 9 CARTERTON, December 31. Air. D. G. Sullivan, M.P., Mayor of Christchurch, was brought to the hospital at Featherston late last evening. He was camping along the upper reaches of the Tauwerenikau river. Yesterday at noon, he left the camp to go for a walk in the hills. While crossing a gravel slide, he slipped, falling a considerable distance over the stones. He managed to make camp, suffering great pain. He was later examined by Dr. Berney. Three ribs were broken and the muscles were torn. He was conveyed by car to Kelvin Private Hospital, after a slow journey, arriving at midnight. The latest report is that he is doing satisfactorily, and should be about in a few days.
