Miss M. Martyn has returned from a ♦ f trip to Timaru.

Mr D. Todd, who has been on a holiday visit to the West Coast, left last evening on rejtuTn to Dunedin.

Mr Ken Griffen arrived in Greymouth yesterday, from Nelson, on a visit to his relatives. Signor J. Formichella, of Wellington, Italian Consul-General for New Zealand, is at present on a visit to Greymouth. Sir James Parr is to remain New Zealand High Commissioner nt London for a further twelve months as from December. The Prime Minister and Airs Forbes arrived at Christchurch yesterday. They will attend the Woodend School Jubilee to-day and the Rangiora races on Mon da v.

The death is announced from Wellington of Mj George IT. Mason, formerly Registrar of Canterbury College. He was one time President of the New Zealand Rugbv Union and the Canterbury Rugby Union.
