MANAGEMENT COMAIITTEE. The weekly meeting of the Manage ment Committee of the West ('oa-t Rugby Union was held last evening. Present: Messrs J. Guy (acting chairman), T. P. Ryan (acting-secre-tary), F. W. Baillie, W. Williams, F. Eggleton, ami T. Mclntosh. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs A. A. Adams, J. Kvle and J. E. Jovce (secretary). A motion of condolence was passed with the relatives of the late Air T. I Scott. A letter was received from the Westland Sub-Union stating that they could not play for the Dittman Shield a 1 Hokitika on September 1, owing to prior arrangements. It was decided to request that th»? match be played on September Sth. A letter was received from the Inangahua Sub-Union, asking for a colts and third grade rep. fixture at Reefton. It was decided to hold the matter over until the date for the Dittman Shield match was confirmed. The following Cobden players were reclassified from senior to junior; D. Eggleton, F. Lindbom, W. Tennent, W. Aloss, 1). Abbie and IL Lindbom. A letter was received from (’. AVafson, asking for transfer from Cobden to Star Club. It was decided to refer the application to Cobden Club for approval. It was decided to write the Star Club, asking if record of junior players who took part in Star-United match on Saturday were handed to the referee, as it had been brought to the notice of the Union that C. Watson, a Cobden player, had taken part in the match. It was decided to write to Blake-j town Club asking if Iggo, who had played for their juniors last Saturday, had fulfilled residential qualifications. United were declared winners of the senior championship am] the “Black and White” caps. United thirds were granted permission to travel to Westport on SaturIt was decided to forward a telegram to the West Coast primary schools team competing in the Seddon Shield tournament at Nelson, they being the first schoolboys to play in a Seddon Shield district schoolboys competition, wishing them success. F. Freitas was appointed captain tain of the West Coast team to play Nelson on Saturday, and R. B. Scandrett vice-captain. Air W. Williams was appointed manager of the West Coast team, which to assemble at the Park Hotel at 1.45 p.m. Air F. W. At last evening’s meeting of the West Coast Rugby Union, a letter was received from the Nelson Rugby Union confirming Saturday’s-match at Greymouth with West Coast. The Nelson team to play West Coast will be the best one possible the Union can field, and it will be the same as that which would have taken the field if West Coast had retained the Seddon Shield. Without exception, every member chosen for the tour would be making the trip, and no players were being left at home who were better than any the Union was taking on tour. After Saturday’s match the Nelson team will leave for Christchurch at 7 a.m. on Monday, playing Oamaru on Wednesday, August 29; Canterbury at Christchurch, on September 1; Ashburton on Tuesday, September 4; and on Wednesday, September 5, leave for Blenheim. arriving there at 6 p.m. On Saturday. September 8, at Blenheim, they will play Marlborough for the Seddon Shield. West Coast Reps TO PLAY WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, August 21. The Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union to-night accepted an offer by the West Coast Rugby Union for the West Coast team which plays Canterbury on September 22nd to play a Wellington representative side on September 19th at Wellington.
