COLDS CAUSED BY GERMS

How They Begin—and How to Cure Them Colds are spread by germs —germs that float in the verv air vuu breathe. These tiny germs, or microbes, enter the system through the nose or mouth. They lodge in the numerous little cavities of the nose, throat and lungs, where the warm, moist conditions provide an ideal breeding-ground. Once there, they multiply rapidly. These germs then inflame the mucous membranes lining the nose and throat and cause those membranes to ‘‘respond” by flooding the breathing passages with mucus or phlegm. The way to cure colds, then, is first to destroy the germs that cause the condition, and then get rid of the condition. 'There has recently been evolyed a new scientific treatment that works in this way. The method is to sprinkle a few drops of Karsote Inhalant on to a handkerchief and in hale the vapours that arise.. Laboratory tests have proved that Karsote vapour will completely de stray the germs of colds, influenza and catarrh in less than !<» minutes. Although Karsote is such an effective germicide, it is perfectly safe 'a use, even by children. Moreover, it s very pleasant to inhale. Each inward breath you take floods every crevice of the bronchial tubes, right down to the bottom of the lungs, with an atmosphere in which germs cannot possibly live. At the same time, the penetrating vapour opens up stuffed notrils ami clears away that unpleasant mucus from the back of tin- throat. Karsote is put up in handy little bottles with sprinkler top and screw cap. So it is just the kind of thing, one can conveniently carry in a pocket | or a handbag—ready for use anywhere, and at any time. Most chemists and stores sell Kar sote in two sizes, 1/4 anil 2/-.
