REDS AT HOLLYWOOD. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.) NEW YORK, August 18. A message from Sacramento states that prosecuting officials who "have been investigating the alleged Communistic activities at Hollywood, name four motion picture players as contributors to that cause, viz.; Lupe Velez, Dolores Del Rio, Ramon Novarro, and James Cagney. Johnny Weismuller (her husband), however, declared: ”Lupe doesn’t even know the meaning of the word.” Cagney has denied the statement categorically, while the others have not commented. His friends declared that over a year ago, Cagney had contributed to the relief for striking agricultural workers, in which strike Communist leaders were involved, which has probably resulted in the linking of his name with that movement BANDIT’S TRIBUTE TO FORD CARS. DETROIT, August 18. Another example of the bandit Dillinger’s supreme insolence and audacity was revealed with the publication of a letter which thc desperado mailed to Henry Ford shortly before he wakilled in Chicago on July 22, complimenting him on the excellent motor ear he produced. He wrote: “I want to thank yon for making such an ex cellent car. If I am ever caught, it will have to be by someone in another Ford.
