The new Catholic Church in course of being erected at Wataroa is about to receive the finishing* touches. Tin’ wdrk is being carried* out by Mr Robert Clarke, of Greyinouth. Rev. Father Joyce. Parish Priest of Ross, pavs his monthly vis.t to this part of his parish next Saturday and Sunday. Mr T. Cron paid a baief visit to G'reymouth on Saturday. A football match was played at Wataroa between Harihaf:,i schoolboys and the Wataroa school team, as a curtain-raiser to the senior game, ami resulted in a draw, 3 points each. Mr E. Best had charge of tile game. M'l- Jack Nolan, of the Wataroa Football Club, was chosen to play along .with the Westland reps, against the Merival,. team at Hokitika on Saturday last. Jack played a good game and did not disgrace his team. The weekly football fixture was played at Wataroa on Saturday afternoon last between ' Harniari and Wataroa. The day was line and some ve.-.y good football was witnessed by the spectators, from both sides. Wataroa had easily the better of the first spell, putting on 10 points early in the same half to th e visitors’ nil. but after the change-over Harihari wak ened up ami put mo*re work into their play. Tt was not long before thev were only a point off being level with the home team. However, with about 15 minutes to go, the visitors were awarded a free kick, and tn ( ball being placed, G.
