(Own Correspondent.' REEFTON, June 14. A report from Hokitika received last evening stated that Aliss Alary AlcAlahon, who underwent a very serious operation a week ago, is progressing very satisfactorily. -Air R. Bolitho, Postmaster at Gravity, arrived in Reefton to-day, on his annual holiday, accompanied by Mrs Bolitho and family, and is visiting his mother and father at Crushington. Yesterday was a very bleak and miserable day at Reef ton. Heavy frost in the morning was accompanied by fog, which lay all day, and at eventide light rain fell which further added to discomfort out of doors. The coal mines in the Inangahua field are all producing, and at several pits a busy time is being experienced. Airs and Air L. Watson, who have spent their honeymoon in Christchurch and the south, returned by last even' lug’s express. Mr W. Thoms, a verv old resident ot thi* district, who has been unwell for some time past, has entered the Reeftpn Hospital for treatment. Th t > Reefton League, Football Club has been notified that the Addington and Hornby Football Clubs have made definite urangements for their -visit to Reefton on Saturday next where they play the representativs of the local Club, when some Cood football should be witnessed. Arrangements have also been made for a fixture match to take place between Alawheraiti* and tho local Waratah League Club. Both these teams play scientific football, so the game should bo very interesting to watch. There were 28 present last evening at a very enthusiastic general meeting of the Reefton Rugby League Football dub. There was a large amount of business transacted, chief of which was the arcc] tanc.c* of visits next Saturday and Sunday. from Hornby. Addington and Grey Alarisr, and arrangements in connection with thp games therewith. Addington and Hornby play on Saturday afternoon. Marists and probably Alawhera-iti and another team on Sunday. One new member was elected, and arrangements in connection with the entertaining dance on Saturday night, th,. 17th inst.. were advanced. The Afaiiagoimenr Committee were nsked to consider the holding of a League Ball at an early date. The captains of the junior and third grade teams were added to tb.‘‘ Al a nagenie nt. A. member referred to tin* taunting barriek that was being indulged in between different codcites, and asked that all Lt'agueites desist. as each person was entitled to his choice of code and such taunting onlv conduced to bail feeling which was conlrarv to good sportsmanship. A vote of thanks to- the chair eon eluded the meeting after which a Management Committee meeting was held, but owing- to the late hour was adjourned till to’morrow evening.
