SLANDER CLAIM
SIEVWRIGHT'S EVIDENCE. (Per Press Association). WELLINC4TON. June 14. The slander action against Kievweight was continued to-day. Sievwright gave evidence using substantially tlie words alleged against him in the statement of claim. Wituess detailed his business connection with plaintiff, and said that at the t ime he made the statements, on which the action was founded, witness had no knowledge of plaintiff’s dealings with the Christchurch company, and knew nothing of the Auckland transaction. At that time ho based his allegations that plaintiff was a rogue, and ought to be gaoled, on his dealings with Mrs Miller and witness. Sydney Herbert Dawe, a salesman, gave evidence concerning dealings with the syndicate. He considered Boddie a good salesman, but not a good business man. He look people on trust too much. Tho i-a.se was adjourned until tomorrow.
