Twenty thousand were present. The Wallabies exploited the tactics of previous matches Play was hard and gruelling, but unspectacular. The home team wore down the Wallabies, who in the concluding stages launched several attacks in their efforts to save the game, but mishandling a critical movement ruined their chances.
