Ye Olde Thyme Ball. Old time dancing is becoming increasingly popular, and the ball which includes forty old time dances, ami which takes place on Friday next, promises to overshadow any previous effort of the kind held in West port. The Committee has arranged for the presence in the Grand March of the three Carnival Queens who an* at present competing in a popularity contest, the proceeds of which are being devoted t<, the Mayor’s Winter Relief Fund. Sixty per cent, of the profits of the ball will also be given to the same object. 'l'he Mayor ami Mayoress will also be present. A waltzing competition, Monte Carlo and Statue dance novelties will also be included in the night’s fun. Mrs Curtis’s Orchestra will provide the music. The Grand March is timed to start at 9 p.m. Poultry Show. Arrangements were discussed at a meeting of th’* local Poultry Club in uonneut ion with the forthcoming Show. Mr Parkinson was in the chair.
