Mrs It. Groom returned last evening from a visit to Dunedin. Mr 11. B. Young returned to Westport from Christchurch last evening. Miss N. E. Murtagh arrived last evening from Wellington on a visit tw Greymouth. Mr W. Wick, of Runanga, returned from Christchurch by last evening's express. Mr Vv. Norton* Coal Creek, returned last evening from, a visit to Christ church. Miss M. Dunn, arrived last evening from Auckland on a visit to the Wesi Coast. Mr and Mrs H. Chalk returned from Christchurch by last evening’s express. Mr A. L. Smith, stationmaster xt Greymouth will return from annual leave to-morrow. Passengers by yesteiday’s express to Christchurch included-.-Miss McDowell,. Miss K. Gieseking, Mrs J. Watson (to Wellington), Mrs E. Cooper (to Ash burton), Mr \\. J. .Radford, Hokitika, (to Wellington), Mr P. Magee and Mr L. ,L Lewis. Guests at Revington’s Hotel include: Mr J. D. Spedding (Sydney), Mr J. M. Epps (Christchurch), Mr W. NLaws (Wellington), Mr R. F. Hunter (Christchurch). Mr C. E. Pethybridge k Christchurch), Mr R. D. Cameron (Christchurch), Mr S. L. Partridge (Christchurch). Mr G. D. Campbell, accountant of the Bank of New South Wales, Wei lington, who was on the staff of the Bank at Westport some years ago, has been appointed manager of the West port branch in succession to Mr C. M. Sargisson. ll e will arrive on Tuesday tn commence his new duties.
