RUGBY LEAGUE
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. Present at last evening’s meeting of the Management Committee of tire West Coast Rugby League were:— Messrs A. 11. McKane (Chairman) J. Stokes, J. Anisy, W. Barlow, and the Secretary (Mr R. Harrington). A letter from th e New Zealand League, commending the Marist Club on their enterprise- jin travelling to Wellington and playing such a very fine game, was received. .The Marist Club’s challenge, for the Senior Challenge Shield, was accepted, the game to be played on October 2nd. The Blackball third, grade team forwarded a challenge to Marist Club, for the Brown Shield. NEW JUNIOR TEAM. A new junior club, Blackwater Rovers applied for affiliation to the League, stating that they wished to enter a team in the junior Knock-Out, Competition, their club to be red and white. O n tin'- motion of the Chairman, the Club was granted affiliation and their club colours approved. Accounts totalling £5 5s Id, were passed for payment. Two referees’ reports were received as satisfactory. If was decided to write to the West Coast Rugby Union, congratulating them on their success in last Saturday 's Svddon Shield match. FIXTURES. The fixtures for Sunday next are:— Senior Challenge Shield: Blackball v. Runanga at Dunollie at 2.45 p.m. (Stan Smith). Junior two round competition, final: Pirates v. Ngahere at Wingham Park. 2.45 p.m. (J. O’Neill). Junior Knock-out Cup: Marist vRunanga at Dunollie, 1.3(1 p.m. (J. McTaggart); Blackwater v. Waiuta at Blackwater, 2.45 p.m. (F. Baird). Owing to the lateness of the season it was decided that the final between Ngahere and Pirates at Wingham Park would also count as a match in thc Junior Knock-out Cup. Third grade, Brown Challenge Shield —Marist v. Brunner at Wingham Park at. 1.15 p.m. (C. Dewar).
