N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS Seond Day’s Results (Per Press Association). DUNEDIN, September 20. The New Zealand amateur billiards champinnship advanced a stag-:- further to-day. Three matches were played in the morning. 11. McLean (Christchurch) beat L. Coonibe- (Milton) by 666 to 553. after an interesting game, in which the greatest experience of the Christchurch man told. McLean’s best breaks were 37 and 32, and Coombe’s best were 61 and -12. In the afternoon( E. N. Stewart (Dunedin) beat L. G. McDonald (Dunedin) by 666 to 409. The winner’s cannoning won thc match. The winner’s best breaks wer e 53, 44 and 33, unfinished, and 32. AlcDonald’s best were 54, 29 and 25. Thc best exhibition to date was that of Mason, playing against F. Anderson, whom he beat by 666 to 263. Ala son outclassed his opponent entirely, play 1 ing a good bright, open game.. He relied on all round billiards for scoring.
