At the Pacific South-west Tennis Championships, in the singles, Vines defeated Alman (California) 6/0, 6/0; Oliff (England) beat Hanna (Los Angeles) 6/4, 2/6, 6/1; Satoh (Japan) defeated William Doeg (Santa Monica) 6/1, 6/0; Kuwubara (Japan) defeated Ned Wheldon (Los Angeles) 6/3, 6/2; Avory (England) defeated Lindsey Dickey (Los Angeles) 6/2, 6/0. The date of the champion Vines’s marriage to Miss Verio Low is announced as October Ist. FREMANTLE, September 20. The liner Ormonde arrived to-day from London. The Davis Cup tennis players, J. Crawford and his wife, are on board. Crawford said that the most promising among the younger foreign tennis players were Menzel (Czechoslovakia) and Von Cramm (Germany).
