Christchurch Marist Win OVER COMBINED GREY TEAM. Yesterday, at Cobden Domain, he visiting Christchurch Mairst thirdgrade team met nnd defeated, a combined Grcymouth lower grade team. Overhead conditions were good, while the ground was in splendid condition and conducive to bright football. The teams were evenly matched and the Grey team put up a creditable showing but found the visitors forward line a li tl? too much for them. The teams were as follows:— Christcliu’ch Marist (Green): Birmingham. Roach, G. Fleet e West, Taylor, Tallett, Doherty, Hairison. Mitchell, Sweeney and O’Boyle. Grcymouth (Red and White): Morel, D c Freatus, Grogan, D. Heaphy, Kiely A. Heaphy. O’Connell Sharp, Pollock Vaughan and Mills. Marist won the toss and elected to play wkli a strong su u at their backs. O’Boyle opened by putting in a run. but Grogan robbed him and cleared. Marist came back in. and Doherty sent over a nice cross, but De Freatus inter CGpted and cleared to half-way. Marist had had th e best of the play so far. and Harrison, Mitchell and Sweeney were causing the Greymouth backs much concern. Morel came out and tack led him. but he. managed to send the ball in o the empty goal. The game now brightened up considerably. aeach side strove for the winning goal and Morel brought off several good saves and at the other end Pollock shoe past an open goal.
