IN BRITAIN Liberals May Pull Out (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. 16. The attitude of the Liberal members of the Government towards fiscal issues arising out of the Ottawa Conference, is still engaging considerable attention. “The Times’* says: The reasons which induced the Liberals to stay in the National Government last November, and last February, have lost none of their force. The “Manchester Guardian” says: Although no decision is yet taken, it cannot longer be delayed. A further meeting of Liberal Ministers will be held. If they decide that the political outlook still necessitates a National Government, and apply the formula of agreeing to differ on the Ottawa agreements, they will make public a statement of the reasons for such a decision. LONDON, Sept. 16. According to the “News Chronicle” Sir H. Samuels, Sir A. Sinclair, and Lord Snowden’s resignation from the Cabinet, in conjunction with the resignation of Sir H. Samuels’ following among the junior Ministers, is a strong possibility. A bye-election was hold to-day for the Twickenham scat in the House of Commons, rendered vacant by the death of Sir J. Ferguson (Conservative). The voting was:— Air 11. Murray Philip,son (Con.) 21,688 Mr Percy Holman (Labour) . . 16,881 Majority . . 4 807 At the general ejection, the Conservative majority was 25,398 votes.
