Harkness’s Offer TO DO WHAT WIZARD CANNOT. (Ter Pres® Association}. AUCKLAND. May 3. An offer was received to-day from Don Harkness, d signer of the racing car Stewart Enterprise, to come to New Zealand and, if necessary, drive the car himself to prove that it is capable of lowering the - one mile land speed record. The cable was by Mr Harkness’s legal representative in Auckland. Mr Harkness asked that the Auckland Automobile Association should bp informed that he was prepared to come to New Zealand immediately and attack the record as soon as the beach, in the opinion of the Association, was suitable.
