OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT. DOUBLE STAR PROGRAMME. “Why Sailors Leave Home” and “The Lady From the Sea,” two excellent pictures, will be screened tonight. WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. “The storm.” Hailed as the talking screen’s most thrilling picture. “The Storm,” Universal’s romantic drama of the human triangle in a snow-bound cabin in the Canadian wilds, will be screened at Wednesday’s matinee, evening and Thursday. Lovely vivacious Lupe Velez has the leading feminine role, that of a little French-Canadian girl. The male angles of the triangle arc portrayed by two of the most capable actors of stage and screen—Paul Cavanagh and William Boyd. The human situation in “The Storm” alone would furnish drama and suspense enough for any picture. JAZZ DANCE. Steel’s Orchestra will -supply the music and Mr Edmonds will have charge of the floor at the Pirate Rugby League Club’s jazz dance a* Herb. Moore’s Cabaret to-morrow (Wednesday) evening. Numerous novelties have been included in the dance programme. Popular prices will be charged for admission. Everyone is assured of a splendid night’s dancing. TOWN HALL THURSDAY. COMBINED SCHOOLS’ CONCERT. PACKED HOUSE ANTICIPATED. A packed house is anticipated at the grand combined schools’ concert on Thursday at the Town Hall.
