N.S.W. DEFAULTS

OVER THREE MILLIONS Another Federal Payment (Aus. A N.Z. Cable Assn). (Received May 2 at 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 2. A Canberra message states that New South Wales has further defaulted the, overseas interest to the extent of £833,793. The Commonwealth Government has remitted the full amount of this, plus the exchange. The total amount now paid out on behalf of New South Wales is £3.058,993. INCOME TAX DATA. HANDED OVER BY N.S.W. COMMISSIONER. (Received May 2 at 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 2. The Federal Government’s demand for access to the N.S.W. State income tax documents has been complied with as far as possible, to-day, by the State Taxation Commissioner, Mr McMahon. Mr McMahon indicated that no was handing over only those documents which he was able to produce within the time limit allowed by the Commonwealth.
