£20,000 IN COSTS Sydney’s Record Case (Aus. A N.Z. Cable Assn). SYDNEY, May 2, Judgment was delivered” to-day in a society divorce suit, Field v. Field, which has broken all State records. It has occupied 87 days. A total oi witnesses have been examined, and the legal costs arc estimated at ovoi twenty thousand pounds. The parties were Sidney John Field, meat exporter, and his wife. Ivy Field. The latter initiated the suit, alleging misconduct, but the husband filed a cross petition on the same ground, joining three persons as co-respondents two of whom were struck out during the hearing. The third, Roland Nott, a warehouseman, was to-day adjudged guilty of misconduct with Mrs Field Mr Justice Owen found that Mrs Field had been reckless and untruth ful in her charges against her hus band, mid that nor allegation with regard to his misconduct with other women had not been proved, as aiso were her charges of cruelty. On the other hand, Mrs Field was held guilty of )n^icon 4 duct with Nott in the early part of last year. Counsel for the wife and Nott an nounced their intention of appealing.
