Miss Evelyn Boddy whose marriage to Mr Hugh Morgan takes places on May 18, was entertained on Thursday by her young lady friends at a Kitehen evening. Miss M. McKay pro sidod and during the evening many interesting competitions were held. Miss I’rl.a Kilpatrick won the priae for the most successful competitor. Miss Boddy was the recipitent of a large number of useful presents.

Mr Oswald J. Morris, who is to-day joining the literary staff of the Greymouth Evening Star, was last evening farewelled by the staff of the Grey River Argus, on which he has served for some time past. A gold-mounted fountain pen was presented to Mr Morris, to whose ability and rapid literary progress as a reporter a tribute was paid by the Editor (Mr M. Daly) in making the presentation, other members of the staff joining in a testimony to the many good personal qualities of the recipient, to whom the best wishes were extended by all present.
