AMUSEMENTS

OPEEA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT AND SATUEDAY. “THE; SKIN GAME.” Some particularly interesting and original dress designs are worn by Phyllis Konstam in “The Skin Game,’’ to be screened to-night, Saturday’s mat nee an d evening. Two striking evening gowns which favour a diagonal line from the hip .to the knee are carried out in oyster phosfore satin and the newly-discovered picador. This latter is a material whose possibilities have not yet been fully realised. Heavier than georgette, it is ideal for clinging and draping effects, and the gown worn by Phyllis Konstam is in red, cut low back and front, with an unusual tulle hem from the knee to the feet. The sole decoration is a flying bird in diamante on the bodice. The satin gow n is a handsom e creation with a diagoMal neckline and a long skirt of sunray pleating. In opposition to the neck line are rows of diamante and minute' pin tucks which run from the bodice and hip to the top of the pleating. An innovation is a diamante clasp which fastens a .taSsel of satin on the breast. A brown velvet suit trimmed with brown nutria and a black marocain and peacock twopiece suit trimmed with pointed fox complete these distinctive toilettes. UNEMPLOYMENT DANCE.
