F. NEAME WINS BIG CHOP. FONG AGAIN SCORES. The Kumara Sports Club conducted tber annual axemen’s carnival at the Kumara Domain yesterday in perfect weather and in the presence of a fair attendance. The various offiials are worthy of mention for the splendid manner in which the meeting was con ducted, all the events being run off to schedule time. The chopping events drew large fields and some excellent chopping was witnessed, the good handicapping providing close and exciting finishes.

F. Neame "was successful in winning the principal events of the day, the Kumara Handicap Underhand Chop, while D. Geary who chopped consistently well annexed the upright ehop. A. Fong scored his sixth successive win of the season, when he won the 120 yards footrace from O. O’Connell. Fong has shown especially good form this season, and O’Connell has had bad luck in striking Fong in his last S ix successes, for he has on each occasion had to be content with second P The presence of a goodly number of visiting jockeys at the carnival prompted the Committee to run a race jo. jockeys and this caused a great den of interest.
