LOAN ISSUE SNAPPED UP. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 30. Subscription lists for an issue of £1,500,000 five per cent, stock, at £lO 10s by the London and Home Countries Joint Electricity Authority, were closed within ten minutes, this morning, the amount having been oversubscribed. OKARITO DREDGE. DUNEDIM, March 29. The Okarito Five Mile Beach Gold Dredging Co. reports a return of 88oz of gold for 123 hours’ work. CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, March 31. A large crowd of buyers attended the fourth Christchurch wool sale. Bradford representatives were more prominent than usual. In the earlier part of the sale, halfbreds wore lower by a halfpenny per pound. Crossbreds were par to a halfpenny lower. Extra super Corriedale reached 11-Jd, and halfbred of the same quality sold at 11 ]d. The sale ended at one o’clock. The passings were ten per cent. Thirteen thousand bales were sold. Prices continued on the opening rates.
