COux Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, March 16A meeting of the Reefton Athletic and Cycling Club was held in the clubrooms on Tuesday. Mr W. S. Pratt (President) was in the chair. Correspondence from the Greymouth Evening Star and Mr Rex. Fitzgerald was received and dealt with. It was moved, by Mr Pratt and seconded by Mr J. Robinson that the Argus, the Grey mouth Evening Star, and the local paper be written to asking them to put in their paper three small advertisements at intervals. —Carried. On tho motion of Mr Pratt, Mr Robinson was appointed publicity and jointsecretary for a short period. It was resolved that the Secretary write to Mr J. Flaherty, asking him to handicap the chopping events at tho Easter carnival. It was decided on the motion of Messrs W. Morris and T. C. Hepburn that the organisation of sideshows be left entirely in the hands of Mr T. Baird. It was also decided that M. T. C. Dellaca be made an honorary members of the Club. It was resolved that when forwarding nominations to the handicappers that the secretary instruct them to handicap [entrants, but withhold from publication the names of those whose nomination had not yet been paid, But 1° state the number of competitors in each event. • The various officials for the Easter carnival were then appointed as follows: —Marshall and referee, W. McMahon Fence Patrol, W. Day. It was resolved that a working-bee meet on the race-coursc on Sunday morning to effect repairs to the cycling track. Mr 11. Cooper, who has been on a short visit to Nelson with Mr S. Quintrell returned to Reefton last evening. Mrs E. A. Hotchkin, General Secretary for New Zealand for the Empire <Service League, left this morning on return to Canterbury. She reports having been most cordiallv received ihroughout the district and her mission in establishing branches was most sue Ressful. Miss Iris Rollerson, Bridge street, Reefton, has been appointed local Secretary and will enrol members and supply badges. Mr J. Crooks, head of the firm of Gilbert Bros., Greymouth was a visitor *o Iteefton to-day. The racehorses, Charmeuse, Ringing Cheer and Wise Choice arrived ia Reefton by this morning’s train and went to Inangahua Junction. The three horses are engaged at the Westport J' C. Meeting.

During the week-end a team from the Reef ton Tennis Club journeyed to Ah aura and played against that Club, the result being as follows (Ahaura players mentioned first): —Alon’s ’Singles.—Cullen 7 v.
