THE WEATHER
(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, February 18. The weather report and forecast are as follows:—General situation: A slight anti-cyclone is passing just south of New Zealand. A cyclonic depression is centred south of Norfolk Island. Forecast: Winds south-east to north-east, or in places north; light to moderate mainly, but freshening in jhe north. Seas (N.Z. waters) smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: South-east to north-east winds, freshening in the northern portion, with rising seas; moderate in the southern portion, with smooth to moderate seas. Weather cloudy, and muggy, with mist or fog in places. Rain is setting in oyer North Auckland, and is extending southwards. Scattered rain, *and in places thunder; also in the more southern districts.
