NEW SECRETARY

For Grey Hospital ME J. E. A. McKEEFREY APPOINTED. At the meeting of the Grey Hospital Board last evening, from among 156 applications, Mr James E. A. McKeefrey, of Christchurch, was the success ful applicant for the position of Managing Secretary to the Board. Mr McKeefrey, who- is a qualified commercial accountant, with five subjects of the Bachelor of Commerce De-' gree, has for the past twelve months been associated with Messrs Isaac J Wilson, Public Accountants, of Christchurch. He also managed the Club Hotel in Dannevirke for twelve months in 1930, whilst he was engaged by the Timaru Herald as an Accountant in 1923. He has also held the positions of Sub-Manager and Manager of the North Otago Daily Times, and that of Advertising Manager of the Timaru Herald. Tn 1922, Mr McKeefrey was employed by the Postal and Telegraph Department, when he occupied the position of Postmaster.

Mr McKeefrey, whose references were of the highest order, had advised that he would, if appointed, be able to commence duties in a week’s time, and he will take up his duties almost immediately.
