DIAMOND WEDDING

MR AND MRS W. H. KELLS. The Diamond Wedding will be celebrated at Takapuna to-morrow of “Air and Airs William Henry Kells, formerly widely-known and respected residents of the Brunner district. Com ing fo New Zealand a s children, they landed at Wellington, and in the early seventies came to the West Coast, at the commencement of the coal mining industry here. Mr Kells had charge of the late Mr Martin Kennedy’s store at Dobson for many years, and was a well-known figure in the district up till seventeen years ag<>, when he and Mrs Kells left to reside in the Auckland district. Mr and Airs Kells were married in Wellington on November 28th, 1871. Mrs Ke’.ls being t'he fifth, daughter of Mr and Mrs Nun Wilton; and Air Kells, the eldest son of Air and Mrs Henry Kells. There are five daughters and four sons, 48 grandchildren and 24 greatgrandchildren,. Tlife daughters are: Mrs Gage, Alexander Terrace, (Greymx>uth); Mrs Kelly (Christchurch); Mrs Sweetman. (Takapuna); Mrs S. Hartshorne (Kaimaita); and Airs Russ (Camerons). The s ons are William (Cobden); Fred (Kamo Whan garei); Arthur (Sydney); and Alfred (Takapuna). One of the sons 1 , Air W. Keils of Cobden left yesterday for Auckland, to be present at the jubilee.
