THE MERRYMAKERS. j A genuinely-amusing evening’s entertainment is promised all those who I attend the Merrymakers’ concert to be held in the Town Hall to-morrow! (Thursday) evening, and comedy and noveltv nnmbers never before presented in. Greymouth, assure that ‘he humorous side of the programme will appeal to all. First among the novelty items must be ranked the item to be given by Robot, the Mechanical Man, who will mofst amusingly and interestingly demonstrate his ability to accomplish everything that any human can do. Another novelty item will be an exhibition of weight-lifting by Mr A. Pratt, whose past performances have been so popular. Mr Jackson will be heard in a novelty instrumental i*em that is bound to appeal, and the ever-popular Wilde and Coll will give two screamingly funny items. A mouth-organ solo will be rendered by Mr D. Galbraith. The serious side of the programme has by no means been neglected, and dancing numbers by Miss Patti Marshall Miss Dorothy Thwaites, and ballet, of six, and vocal numbers by such well-known vocalises as Miss Nita Hopkin?, Mr J. Duffy, and Mrs Moss will provide lovers of music with a feast of entertainment. A trombone solo w»ll be given by Mr Bell, and Mr I. Nelson will also entertain. So interesting a programme has not been presented in Greymouth for some time, and those in search of an enjoyable evening can do no better than attend .the Merrymakers, at the Town Hall on Thursday.

HOCKEY ON SKATES. To-morrow evening Pirates and Athletic will try conclusions at McKane’s Hall, in what is practically a semi-final of the hockey on skates competition. WELCOME BALL FOR MAORI ALL BLACKS The coming annual ball of the West Coas' Rugby Union, at which the Maori touring team will be officially 1 welcomed to Greymouth, promises to | be by far the most enjoyable event of the season.
