2000 ENUMERATORS DEFAULT.

The Registrar-General reveals that oit.-of forty thousand enumerators who were employed in taking the British census, including twelve thousand unemployed, two thousand of the enumerators defaulted. Some did so in the middle of their work, without any explanation. The prosecution of the worst offenders is contemplated.
