x±iSTt:RDAY 7 S LaV’xi STOCx*. PRICES, (Special to “Argus.’’) CHRISTCHURCH, September 10. The live stock sale at Addington today *is reviewed by Messrs H. Matson 1 and Co., as follows:—There was a small yarding of store sheep, chiefly of nondescript lots, and a. dragging sale. Many lots were passed in. There was a medium yarding of fat sheep, mostly unfinished lots, with a few pens of extra prime sorts. Late rates were maintained. Extra heavy wethers sold to 40s lOd, prime 31s to 355, medium 25s to 29s 6d, light from 21s. Prime heavy ewes sold to 35s 4d, prime 24s to 28s, medium 19s to 235, light from 15s 6d. Best hoggets sold up to 20s 7d, others from 18s. There was a slightly larger yarding of beef. The best quality fully maintained the recent values. Light stuff was easier. Show bullocks sold to £29 12s 6d, prime heavy to £25 2s 6d, prime £lB JOs to £22 10s, medium £l3 10s to £l7 10s, light from £ll 10s. Extra heavy cows sold to £l9. 12s 6d, prime heavy £l4 10s to £l7, prime £ll to £l3 10s, medium £8 10s to £lO 10s, others from £6 10s. Best heavy heifers sold to £lB 2s 6d. There was a medium yarding of porkers and bacon pigs. The market was firm. Porkers sold 55s 6d to £3 Is 6d, heavy £3 3s 6d to £3 16s Gd; average 9ld to 10Id per lb. Baeoners sold from £4 4s 6d to £4 16s Gd, heavier to £5 13s 6d; average 7£d to B|d per lb. Store pigs were in good demand. ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE.

Messrs M. Houston and Co., report: —At the above sale on Monday there was a good attendance of buyers, but there was again a short entry of fat cattle, quite insufficient for butchers’ requirements. The total yarding consisted of 75 head of which our entry 'comprised 44 head, for w T hich competition was very keen. Exceedingly good prices were recorded, and the sale was the dearest held at these yards for a. considerable time; in some eases beef sold as high as 60/- per hundred, the average throughout being about 55/per hundred for good ox and heifer beef. There were only a few fat sheep yarded and these sold very well. The following were our sales:—On account of Wm. Mills 11 fat wethers at 28/6; on account of F. G. Williams and Sons, 3 bullocks at £l7 ss, 4 at £l7 2s 6d, -1 at £l7. 4 heifers at £l5, 4 bullocks at £l5 17s 6d. 4 at£l6, 2 at £lB 2s Gd, 2 at £l5 10s, 2 heifers at £l4 7s Gd, 2 at £l4 7s 6d, 3 at £l4 ss, 2 bullocks at £l7 12s 6d, 2 heifers at £l4 15s, 3 ,at £l4 7s 6d, 3 bullocks at £l5 10s, 1 at £l7 10s.

W. Jeffries and Co.’s entry comprised 35 cattle and 25 sheep, the following sales being made:—On account of E. A. Gibb, 2 bullocks at £l7 17s 6d, 1 cow at £l3 17s Gd. For T.
