THE WEATHER.
WELLINGTON, April 17. Dr. Kidson’s weather report states: General situation: The eyclbne has passed away eastward. There is still a rather intense anti-cyclone between Sydney ana the West Coast of the South Island, but the pressure is falling over the South Tasman. Forecast!: jFresh westerly winds about Foveaux Strait; elsewhere moderate to strong southwest to southeast winds, decreasing somewhat. Seas generally smooth to moderate in NeW Zealand waters. Tasman Sea: Moderate south to south-east winds, with moderate seas in the central and northern portion of the Eastern Tasman. Fresh to strong westerlies and rather rough seas fa the southern portion. Weather: Weather still cloudy in places, with scattered showers, but improving temporarily, and mainly fair. Cold night temperatures, with some frosts inland in the South Island.
