IN THE WAIKATO j At Parish Elections HAMILTON, April 17. " The dissension in the Waikato Anglican Diocese was further evidenced to-night when the Cathedral parishioners. numbering six hundred, held their annual meeting. The proceedings were very lively. Dean Barnett stated definitely that the election of officers turned on the question of whether the parishioners approved or disapproved of the policy and actions of Bishop Cherrington in the administration of the diocese. Mr D. Hay. a supporter of tho Bit hop, said that he had invited Bishop Cherrington to attend as the issue had l»een made one between him and th© Dean. The Bishop entered and made his wav to the platform amid cheers.
The election of officers went in favour of the anti-Bishop party by majorities of about four to three.
