WEDDINGS.

KIELY—RUANE. St Patrick’s Church was yesterday morning the scene of a very prettv wedding, when Ella, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs P. Ruane of Ngaherc was married to Neil, fifth son of Mrand the late Mr T. Kiely, Greymouth, and until recently a prominent amateur boxer. Rev Father Gregory celebrated he Nuptial Mass. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of hefather, looked charming in a frock of Lido blue face cloth, trimmed with cherry and fawn crepe de chine, air' a fawn felt hat. A bouquet composed of white arbutus, cactus. dahlia’s, cream roses and pale blu e hydrangea •- completed a pretty toilette. She was sit ended as bridesmaid by her sister Miss Mona Ruane, who was attired in a dress of sandalwood face cloth trimmed with cherry crepe de chkie and carrying a posy of autumn tints Mr M. Kiely, brother pf the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man. Mr T. Crankshaw acted as organist. After the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the Albion Ho tel. the guests being received by Mrs M. A. Thornton, aunt of the bride. Several toasts were honoured, Mr a id Mrs Kiely being extended many speeches of a eulogistic nature. The happy pair later left by the express for Christchurch, from whence they will proceed to Wellington, where the honeymoon will be spent. A large crowd gathered at the station prior to the departure of the train, where the popularity of the. young couple was demonstrated by the hearty send off accorded them, those present joining in the singing of “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows” a- the train departed. Mr and Mrs Kiely were the recipients of many useful present, i.i eluding several cheques.

Miss Mona Outrahi was bridesmaid, and wore a frock of cornflower blue georgette with lace hat to match. Both the bride and bridesmaid carried showei bouquets. Mr Frank McEnane.y acted a* best man, while the wedding ceremony was performed by Rev Fr Holohan. GRIFFITHS—DANDO. The wedding was celebrated at St Thomas’ Church, Runanga. recently, of Mav's. eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Dando, Runanga, and Kenneth, only son of the late Mr and Mrs A Griffiths, Brunner. The Rev W. Bell was- the officiating clergyman and Miss N. Goodwin presided at the organ. church wai tastefully de corated by friends of the bride. The brid-e, who was given away by her father, wore a long-sleeved gown of bush pink georgette made on simpl? lines. . Th e long bodice was piped to the skirt, .and the overskirt., which f°ll in graceful lines in an uneven hem was bordered with silver tissue braid Her veT was of pink tulle, heavily embroidered in silver, a‘id held in place bv a chaplet of orange blns soms falling in graceful lines to the ground. She carried a rhower bouquet of pink and white hothouse flowers tied with satin streamers. Mi.s« Liz zie Dando, wh 0 attended her sister as brid-esamid. wore a sleeveless frock of delft blue georgette with a tight bodice land a cowboy collar, and the four tierfed r. skirt wm edged with silver -braid, with a falling side spray to match. Her large picture hat of black crinoline was trimmed with a prettv blue poy. She carried a bouquet of blue and white hothouse flowers. Li*tie Betty Dando. sister of the bride, made a pretty flower girl in her frock of primrose pink crepe de chine. Mr R Hal] was best man.
