The Oamaru Jockey Club’s summer meeting concluded to-day in perfect weather, and before a fair attendance. Light rain the previous night did not affect the track, which was fast. The totalisator handled £8,169, the total for the meeting being £14,870, compared with £20,7365 in 1925, that being the last time a two-day meeting was held on the home course. An inquiry was held into the running of the winnerin the Pukeuri Trot, but the explanation of the rider-owner was accepted. In the same race the rider of Free Pointer, T. D. SEQUEL TO LAPLANDER-FREE ADVICE INCIDENT. CHRISTCHURCH, December 10. At a meeting of the Board of the New Zealand Trotting Association on Saturday evening, a further development took place in the Laplander-Free Advice case, and the well-known driver. F. G. Holmes, was disqualified for three months. It will be remembered that at the Otahuhu meeting on November 17th, Laplander (F. G. Holmes) and Free Advice (J. Bryce) finished first and second. The Stewards, after inquiring, reversed the judge’s placing, and HoWs was cautioned. The owner of Laplander, C. Nordquist, appealed to the Trotting Association, and on Saturday Nordquist appeared before the Association in support of his appeal. The Association decided to write to the Otahuhu Club to ascertain whether Nordquist had been invited to be pre sent at the inquiry, and, if not, to re-open the enquiry. The Association also decided, as stated above, to impose the penalty of three months’ disqualification on F. G. Holmes, , .
